You can use WiFi or an Ethernet cable to connect your devices to the extender. If your devices can connect to the internet, your extender is connected to your router successfully.
Do I have my range extender in the right place?
After setting up the extender, plug it in about halfway between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone. This will give you better coverage and signal strength. Your router must be able to reach the place you choose.
Use the Signal LED lights to make sure that your range extender is in the best place (light styles may be differ from different extenders). The strength of the signal from the main router is shown by the color or number of Signal LED lights. For example, if RE200 is connected to your router and the signal is good, the 2.4G or 5G light (the Signal LED light) will be solid green. If the signal is weak and the LED light is red, you need to move the device closer to the router.
